Logar Valley is one of Slovenia’s most stunning alpine valleys, nestled in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Known for its lush meadows, dramatic mountain peaks, and the majestic Rinka Waterfall, the valley offers a tranquil retreat into nature. We will drive there through small village called Jezersko and stop by its lake. Shortly we will continue through Austria and return to Slovenia once again to visit the highlight of the day – picturesque Logar valley.

First we will drive up North and visit Jezersko – a harming alpine valley, nestled between the towering peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karawanks. Known for its pristine nature, crystal-clear lakes, and picturesque meadows, Jezersko is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking tranquillity. We will stop by the serene Lake Planšar, a small, heart-shaped lake that reflects the surrounding mountains. Note that with its rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes, Jezersko represents a hidden gem for anyone looking to experience the raw beauty of Slovenia’s alpine region. And by the way, in winter, Jezersko transforms into a snowy paradise.
Logar valley is becoming one of the best boutique tourist destinations in the world. Nature is incredible, a real luxury and most importantly, people here have found a harmonious balance between tradition, nature and way of life. There are many opportunities for hiking, cycling, horse riding or photo safaris. The park also received the international award “CIPRA: Future in the Alps Award” for successful management of a protected area. Most of the population is engaged in wood and wool processing, and they can also offer numerous local delicacies such as Upper Savinjski želodec, sirnek, masovnik, sirnica, lamb, and much, much more.
We will drive through the valley towards Rinka waterfall. It is the second highest waterfall in Slovenia with its drop of 150 metres. However, to get to the waterfall, we have to park our vehicle and take a short walk uphill – but don’t worry, the journey will only take about 15 minutes. At the top, we will enjoy the pleasant view, relax and, if desired, have a cup of coffee, tea or beer. Sounds good?
We suggest to take a ride along the picturesque panoramic road (21 km), which is said to be the “Road with the most beautiful views”. It is unique in its beauty and it takes us past the pearls of the natural and cultural heritage of the Solčava region, with breathtaking views of the nearby peaks and valleys. What do I need for this tour?
First of all — bring a smile. Everything else is optional. But we also recommend a nice comfortable shoes in which you can also walk a little uphill and appropriate clothes – as in this mountain area it can be a little cooler.
